2019 Team Camp2018-08-06T14:39:36+00:00

July 22nd-25th, 2019

This camp is for 7th–12th grade wrestlers and coaches. While it is a Team Camp, individuals are invited as well. Individuals who attended without a team will be considered free agents and added to an existing team at camp. We will work on increasing wrestling knowledge, building team unity, developing leadership in young people and having fun!

Hear From Gabe Dean

Gabe’s message is different than most successful wrestlers and that’s why he is the perfect fit for an EZ Wrestling Camp. He personifies the message we want every wrestler that attends one of our camps or sessions to understand: this sport makes you a better human being and no matter your level of success being a good person is the end game.

Why?

People have asked, and will continue to ask why there is a need for this camp?

We had a vision of creating a camp where all of the things we saw could be improved at other camps, came together and were improved at our camp.

From having to sleep on wrestling mats in an old church in the midst of summer heat, to having to sleep in a non-air conditioned dorm room on a feces infested mattress while dealing with scorching temperatures we knew there was a better way, or we had to create one. For the high prices of many of these camps wrestlers should be able to sleep in a quality bed, with air conditioning, and have the luxury of three gourmet meals a day.

When on the mats, wrestlers shouldn’t have to be just another face in the crowd amongst 1,000 or so athletes, but rather have small group and individual time with the clinicians they pay to see. Hundreds of moves won’t be covered at our camp, but the moves that will be covered will be known well and brought back to your rooms.

We wanted to create a camp where teams had too many activities to choose from, and didn’t end up with nothing to do each night except lay in the heat. We envisioned a camp where coaches could interact with the lead clinicians, ask them questions, pick their brains, and leave camp having a vision of how to improve their programs.

Most importantly, we wanted a camp that didn’t put an extreme amount of focus on competition and winning pointless summer duals while having athletes wrestle 10 + matches. Instead, we envisioned a camp where teams could bond over fun activities, coaches could learn from some of the greatest minds in wrestling, athletes could focus on the technical and mental side of the sport, and where teams would want to return summer after summer.

At camp, your team can enjoy using the lake for swimming, canoeing, and fishing, or your team could get together to play mini golf, swim in the swimming pool, go to the movie theater to watch hundreds of movies, stop by the arcade and play numerous games including pool or ping pong. Additionally, Woodside is filled with miles and miles of trails running through the woods to use and enjoy, as well as tennis courts, shuffleboard courts, volleyball courts, horseshoe pits, pickle ball courts, and baseball fields to use and play on. For $20 per athlete take a horseback ride through the woods with your team.

The Woodside hotels are newly constructed and include air conditioning, comfy beds, rooms with bathrooms and showers, along with flat screen tv’s that can be used to play video games or watch movies as a team.

We bring to you, EZ Wrestling camp at the Woodside Ranch!
